About Me
I have always gravitated towards working with children.
While working towards my masters degree I was the lead teacher in a three/ four year old preschool classroom at Dominican University. I taught elementary education for the majority of my teaching career working in fourth, fifth, and second grades. After my three children were enrolled in school full time I was a substitute teacher for many years at the elementary level.
I have experience working with diverse youth and those with special needs, including many ADHD students. I supported and taught executive functions before I even knew what they were.
Over the past years I have seen many changes in elementary education and also changes in the needs of students. It became obvious to me that students need help with executive functioning, especially at the middle and high school levels. This led me to getting certified as an executive functioning coach through the program, Seeing My Time®. I have been working with middle, high school, and college students for the past five years.
I have three children, a sophomore and a senior at OPRF high school and a sophomore in college at Illinois Wesleyan University. As a parent I understand the stress and difficulty school can sometimes bring. I am here to help with that. I find working with students is a rewarding and fulfilling career.
